I must admit that I am a fan of Star Trek but not too much of fan for this film review. There are people out there who are trekys who go to meetings in different parts of America and dress up like there favorite stars.

Well when I first heard about this film coming out I was eager to see who was going to be who and whether it was going to be meet the hype that the film making has had. There have been speculation about the film as all the true fans have been very cautious as they will not like change. Everyone wants stuff the way it is but things have to change and this film for me has been very good.

This film sees the start and making of the team who were in charge of the USS Enterprise for the forth coming years. The film starts with the birth of Jim KirkĀ in which we see the death of his father George Kirk (Chris Hemsworth) by saving the crew of a ship he was intrusted in for 12 minutes.
From this Jim Kirk is portayed as being a rebel kid who does not want to get into any sort of order or do anything with his life even though he is extremely bright and he should do really well. He as a young child runs his step fathers car off the road to show that he does not want to follow a proper order while being brought up without a real dad.

From this the film turns to spook who shows how he was brought up with the fact that his mother was human and his dad was vulcan. Spook was bullied througout school but he shows his human spirit, this for me a little bit odd for spook as throughout the tv series and films he was always stern faced and never showed much emotion. In this version the film shows a bit of a different approach from some of the cast members.
All the rest of the cast fall in to place as the film runs through. For instance Bones, Kirk meets this man on his first day in the academy. The other two famous crew area ready on the vestal but scotty comes aboard later on in the show when he is discovered in a far distant out post.
I am not going to give away what happened throughout the film as I think you will have a fair idea, but I really think it is a good film and that is why I am going to give it a rating of 8 out of 10
